Don't look for the right company to work for, create it.

Don't look for the right company to work for, create it.

People always look to see if the grass is greener on the other side. They leave their current company because they are frustrated with their role, culture, politics, etc. They only move on again two years later. The average someone stays at the same company is 2-3 years.

Instead of moving jobs to work for the 'right' company, work to change your role/company to the right company.

Companies need to continually change to compete. They need to be able to react to the market, technology, and their customers. They also need to change to keep an exciting workplace that people want to work and grow their career. Companies need to allow their employees and dedicate time to actively participate in company change initiatives.

Employees need to start actively pursue and get involved in making these changes. You cannot be complacent and hope 'they' will change things to make things better. We all have a responsibility to make our work environment the place we want to spend our days to work at and grow our career. If we leave it to others, than most like we will be the ones to leave.

Don't be the turnover metric. Be the change you want to work for.
