The year was 1993. My parents just dropped me off for my first semester in residence at the University of Waterloo. It was the January semester. I had never felt so alone. Thanksgiving is that time of year where we sit back and reflect on everything we are thankful for. This year has been an exceptional year that has made me appreciate a lot of things. I’m thankful for all the support I have in my life. My wife, family, and friends who support me through all of its ups and downs. I do set unrealistic goals, but with the support structure I have, they make me feel that anything is possible. Authority – the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. Influence – the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself. Authority is power. If you want to rule the galaxy by power, then join the dark side of the force. Influence is ability.
